Career Overview

With 30 years in the IT and telecom industries, Mr. Koelsch is a seasoned professional with a broad range of experience ranging from operating to senior executive positions. He is a recognized industry expert, widely quoted in the trade, visual and general media. He is regularly invited to speak in private and public forums on Canadian as well as global Information Technology trends and issues. In 1995 he successfully published his first book entitled "The Infomedia Revolution".
In 1984 Mr. Koelsch was one of three Founders of the Gartner Group Canada. Over the next 13 years he grew the company to be Canada’s largest and most highly regarded provider of industry leading research and analysis services. During this time he developed one of Canada’s major executive consulting practices and personally consulted to the heads of many of Canada’s largest companies including; Bell Canada, the Royal Bank of Canada, TD Bank of Canada, IBM Canada, Nortel Networks, AT&T, Sprint, Xerox, Fujitsu, BC Hydro, BC Gas, the Federal Government, the Government of Ontario and many more. During this period he also established and developed Canada’s leading telecommunications research and advisory service as well as one of the country’s largest annual high-tech conference series.
Upon selling his interest in Gartner Group, Mr. Koelsch returned to his private executive consulting practice. Among other engagements, he accepted the position of General Manager for TLI and Importal Systems Inc., two companies active in the Internet and eLearning markets. He was responsible for all aspects of business conceptualization, planning, deployment, sales and ongoing management.
Mr. Koelsch’s early carrier included a variety of technology, operations and systems management positions. He progressed through supervisory, management and executive level positions in companies such as Sears Canada, the Royal Bank of Canada and Crowntek.
In June 2002 Mr. Koelsch accepted the position of President and CEO of Everest Group Canada. His objective is to develop a full service Canadian consultancy specialized in helping clients’ manage their strategic outsourcing initiatives to maximize business value.
