Career
Overview
Ms.
Youngman is a senior partner of Stikeman Elliott with wide-ranging corporate
and commercial experience in a variety of industries, advising both
public and private corporations. She leads the firm’s Outsourcing
Group, is co-chair of the firm’s Negotiated Acquisitions Group
and is a member of the firm’s Technology Group. She deals primarily
with outsourcing transactions, both for suppliers and customers, mergers
and acquisitions, commercial matters, including joint ventures, licensing
and distribution, and cross-border investments.
Ms. Youngman is a member of the firm’s Management Committee in
Toronto and serves as a co-chair of the ABA Negotiated Acquisitions
Committee Task Force on Joint Ventures. She is a member of the Licensing
Executives Society, the ABA Cyberspace Committee, the CBA Corporate
Laws Committee and coordinates the firm’s membership in the Sourcing
Interests Group, a leading forum for major participants in strategic
outsourcing.
Ms. Youngman is recognized by 2003 LEXPERT, the Canadian legal directory,
as a “leading practitioner” in the area of Technology Law
and is rated by Martindale-Hubbell as “AV”, their highest
category concerning legal ability and ethical standards. Ms. Youngman
is a co-author of Intellectual Property in Canada (Juris Publications)
and Mergers and Acquisitions in Canada (Kluwer). She is a frequent speaker
and author of a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including
numerous papers and presentations on outsourcing and international joint
ventures. Called to the Ontario Bar in 1986 and admitted as a solicitor
for England and Wales in 1994.
